About this service
What Happens Next?! is published under the whnext.io brand. This policy explains how the game and this website handle information.
Data on your device
Guess history, hearts, streaks, onboarding state, playback preferences, notification choices, and cached video data are stored locally on your device. You can clear guess history in Settings. Removing the app removes its remaining local data.
Clip videos and thumbnails may be streamed or downloaded from our hosting provider and cached on your device. The provider may process basic delivery information such as IP address, request time, and requested media file. We do not put your name, email address, or precise location in those media requests.
Anonymous game analytics
Newer app versions may send anonymous gameplay events so we can measure sessions, returning players, clips played, choices, endings watched, playback problems, ad events, and purchase flow events. The app sends a randomly generated installation identifier and session identifier; our server hashes both before storing them. We do not send or store your name, email address, contacts, photos, microphone recordings, camera data, advertising identifier, or precise location with these events.
We use this information to understand whether the game works, improve clips and difficulty, measure retention, and diagnose failures. You can turn Analytics off in the app's Settings. Raw anonymous events are retained for up to 13 months and may then be deleted or kept only in aggregated form.
If you choose a daily reminder, it is scheduled locally through the device notification system. Emailing support sends the information you choose to include to our email provider.
Website data
When you visit this website, hosting and security providers may process basic request information such as IP address, browser type, request time, and requested page to deliver and protect the site. We do not sell personal information.
Notifications
Daily reminders are optional and scheduled on your device. Version 1.0 does not register for remote promotional notifications. You can turn reminders off in the app or disable notifications in device settings.
Advertising and purchases
Newer app versions may show ads supplied by Google and offer an ad-free subscription through Apple. Google may process device, advertising, interaction, and approximate-location information according to your consent choices and its own policies. Where required, the app asks for consent before personalized advertising. You can decline personalized ads.
We use Meta App Events to measure whether ads on Facebook or Instagram lead to installs and to understand aggregated campaign performance. Meta may receive app and device information, advertising identifiers when permitted, IP address, app launches, and limited interaction or diagnostic information. On iOS, the app asks for Apple's App Tracking Transparency permission before enabling advertiser tracking. You may decline; Meta may still provide delayed, aggregated attribution through Apple's privacy-preserving SKAdNetwork system.
Advertising choices are also subject to any consent message shown in your region. You can change available advertising privacy choices in Settings. Meta and Google process information under their own privacy policies, and we do not receive a list of the individual people who installed the app from an ad.
Apple processes App Store purchases. RevenueCat helps the app confirm subscription status and provides aggregated subscription and revenue reporting. We do not receive your full payment-card details.
Retention and choices
Local game data remains until you clear it or remove the app. Support emails are retained only as reasonably needed to answer the request, keep the service safe, or meet legal obligations. You can disable reminders and anonymous analytics in Settings.
Your requests
You may ask about access, correction, or deletion of information you sent through support. Because the game has no account and analytics identifiers are anonymous and hashed, we generally cannot connect gameplay events to you or identify local game data on your device.
See our data deletion instructions for steps covering local game data, analytics choices, and support information.
Children
The game is not directed to children under 13 or the higher minimum digital-consent age required in their country. Do not use the service if local law requires parental authorization that has not been provided.
Changes
We may update this policy as the game changes. The date above will show when the latest version took effect.
